An old school first person shooter where Rocket Jumping and Super Shotgun is combined into the same weapon.

This was the starting point and design goal I had in mind for this prototype. To create something new with something familiar. The Force Gun works like a hitscan shotgun when aimed towards enemies but when aimed at obstacles it also creates a pushing force, which can be leveraged to gain increased height and speed when jumping.

It proved to be an interesting challenge in terms of balance and details. Since rate of fire, distance to obstacle and the force of the weapon is directly tied into the players movement, balancing these to prevent abuse of the mechanic was interesting both from a technical, gameplay and level design point of view.
