Creating the EMP Gun

We needed a way for the player to have a more active role while staying true to the game’s non-aggressive design.

My suggestion was to add a device allowing the player to disrupt light sources and create temporary darkness.

This device became an exception to the idea of light being uncontrollable. Mainly because it shifts the concept to provide more darkness instead of more light.

Solution

  • ⚡ EMP concept - A tool for a more active playstyle without adding aggression.
  • 🌑 Darkness as cover - Temporarily disables lights to create safer paths.
  • 🔄 Thematic exception - Breaks the usual light rules but enhances tension and stealth.
  • 🎯 Tactical use - Encourages timing and positioning over direct confrontation.
